Russell Whyman It almost seems like cheating to select Gaudete as my favourite on this album. The whole thing is full of beautiful music.

Gaudete probably appealed to me most because I knew it already but this is a very well executed version. Favorite track: Gaudete.

H.L. "Ancient Winter" is a special album and definitely as celtic or folk oriented as LEAH's other albums, it is just not metal. Nevertheless, the album is dynamic and fortunately it appears very natural and rather authentic due to real drums and several special instruments like flutes, pipes, fiddles and violins. The calm "The Messenger" sounds even like a forgotten song from the Lord of the Rings soundtracks. "Ancient Winter" is just the right sound for relaxed winter evenings. Favorite track: Redemption.

'Ancient Winter' is one of the most anticipated holiday albums of the year. Written & performed by Celtic-Fantasy artist LEAH, you'll be taken to another era as your soul is immersed in Medieval choirs, Celtic instruments, and Worldly flavors of the middle east.

Ancient Winter features Troy Donockley from Nightwish on all the Flutes, Pipes and Whistles and they really make the music magical! Also featured is Anna Murphy on the hurdy-gurdy (Cellar Darling, ex-Eluveitie) and Shir-Ran Yinon on Fiddle/Viola (Eluveitie, Epica, and many other accompaniments)
